Aug. 30th, 2004 11:09 amHand towels are apparently NOT microwaveable.
I hope those fumes are noxious in any way, because I got a good lungful as I was trying to get the smoldering towel out onto the porch so I could pour water on it and put out the embers...
Reason for doing this:
One of my lower back muscles decided to, I don't know...cramp up or something, this morning. I don't know what it did, but it HURTS. I'm waiting for a Lortab to kick in right now, but in the meantime, I wanted some heat to put on it. Not particularly wanting to splut a washcloth on my back (heated in warm water), I decided to heat up a towel instead. Figuring the dryer would take too long, I popped it in the microwave for a faster heating. I caught a whiff of something that smelled funny as I was getting my drink to wash my Lortab down with, so I went to go see what it was.
Imagine my surprise when I saw scorch marks on the towel.
The towel now lies damp and burnt on the porch, and I've got the door open/fans going to try and air out this place... and my back still hurts. Going to probably have to heat up a washcloth or something, becuase I really really really want a few more frickin' hours of sleep before class tonight.
