Swing back
Sep. 12th, 2012 02:02 pmUrgh, I'll get back into the swing of updating things here eventually... Recap to remind myself where I left off:
~ Went to Dragon*Con. Got there ass-early (0530 am) Thursday morning and got roped into volunteering for the convention. Was actually rather fun, once we got all of the ass-upmtions out of the way. Only bought two things because of money restrictions : a MissMonster foo dog bandana and a set of dice from Chessex. Shiny things, yes.
~ Immediately spent the next four days laid out with con crud. Prickly throat, fever, general houghy lungs - whole nine yards. It tried to make a reappearance this past Monday, but another round of soup + juice + vitamins seems to have knocked it back out.
~ Dropped my car off last week to get her nose repaired. I clipped a pylon in like... April, and am only just now getting around to fixing my car. Fun things I have discovered during this process:
~ .....that's pretty much everything, I think.
I picked up Fossil Fighters: Champions when I went to Huntsville before D*C and I have been playing the HELL out of it. It combines digging up fossils (ala The Underground from Pokémon Diamond/Pearl) and monster battling/ressurecting. I'm slightly above the age-curve for this game (or I've played Pokémon too long) because my team is currently beating the snot out of anything we come up against, but it's fun. Might do a write up in a different post explaining the game more in detail... though, BW2 are gonna be hitting the shelves in like, a month, so I don't know how many of my Trainer buddies will want to start a new game before they release....
But ah well.
Fossil Fighters is hella fun for a kids game and if you like cute multicolored-dinosaurs, raising monsters and battling them, it's definitely worth picking up. Used at the very least (which my game is - there are some side-effects, like it's now freezing at random places, but oh well. Life isn't perfect.).
I'm not even gonna bother outlining what needs to be done before AWA. I'll just panic myself more.
Today I'm going out with <lj user=lunitaire> to go pick up my car and then probably hit a craft store. He's the one that needs things more than I do, but as I seem to have lost my button box, I'm gonna need some emergency buttons for my wwhales. There's one last place to check before I spend the last of my cash on craft stuff, but yeah...

- I don't have rental car reimbursement on my insurance.
- I am hella scared of making a claim on my insurance ever again because of how FAST my insurance company wanted everything done.
- Moving during this process wasn't exactly helpful either.
- My insurance company was amazing in transferring my claim over to a local Atlanta shop to get the job done FINALLY.
