MOART .... Friday? Eh, sure, why not. Not all fan-art is posted here (because I'm waiting to scan in my old!art for compare/contrast funtimes), but there is a good chunk of it.
I'm a child of the 80's, so of course I'm going to give the new My Little Pony a try. I can safely say they did MUCH BETTER this time around than the abominations they tried to pass off as Ponies in the late 90's (Gen3) and early 00's (Gen4).
I am also ashamed to admit that the new style is ridiculously simple to draw in. These first two pics are of my own personal pony, now officially named "Harmony Lily" .... or "Lily Harmony". I can't decide. But those words, in some order, are her name. Yes.

setsu_p for actually forcing me to name her in accordance to the pony-naming conventions.
And now onto the rest of the herd. Waaaaaaaaaay back when, whenphe_chan and I were on our first Pony-kick, I made up a few "personal" ponies. I had Harmony, then an Ice unicorn and an Air pegasus. Sadly, my lil' Ice uni is still unnamed, though Ice Crystal is becoming more and more appealing.... even if it is just her working name.
My Air pegasus sortof got spun up out of nowhere. On the first round of ponies, I knew I wanted and Air-based pegasus pony, but for the life of me, couldn't settle on acutie mark butt symbol worth beans... so the idea just sat there and gel'd in the back of my head.
Well, with all the hot weather we've been getting beaten with, I have been craving ANY whiff of autumn my nose/body can detect. Slightly lower air pressure and tempuratures only in the low 90's, not high 90's? MUST MEAN FALL IS COMING. Slightly less humid in the mornings, and a tiny bit more breezy? FALL IS ALMOST HERE OMG. Trees starting to look like they're gonna turn yellow soon? FALL FALL FALL FALL.
There's also a Savage Garden song I tend to mellow out to (and after these past few weeks, I needed that mellowing out), that has the lyrics:
"Cool breeze and autumn leaves,
Slow motion daylight..."
Breeze? Autumn? Autumn Breeze? YES. Lé perfect name. Hercutie mark butt symbol is five leaves (various colors) being tossed around on wind tendrils. I still haven't figured out colors for her (or Ice-uni for that matter), but yes. Air pegasus and Ice unicorn.
Also her mane will look less like Fluttershy's the next time I draw her, I swear.
In divying up my interests for pony bases, Dmitriy called dibs on my music-based pony. Bass note and double-eigth note for my two favorite music symbols, Dmi's signature horribly pink sash, and a tongue-in-cheek reference to his flamboyant nature with his name. Ready for it?

....oh don't give me that look. It's Dmitriy. Have you SEEN what he does in his other incarnations? Male Tauren in a skimpy blue dress. 'nuff said. As seen here.
IN OTHER ART, Pokémon.
It all started with this chibi Electabuzz. He started turning out pissy-looking, so I was like, "Aw, you're angry. Here, let me cheer you up."
So I doodled a battery for him and he seemed pretty happy with that. (This is my favorite sketch, by the way. Just so cute and happy!)
Then I realized that, for how much I love Electabuzz, I don't really see any "bad-ass" art of them. I tried to fix that, but I'unno how well I did. Maybe it'll look better in color?
After drawing three Electabuzz, I decided this sketchpage was dedicated to Electric Pokémon, so I drew a Jolteon. Happeh Joltie, ♥
One of my favorite things to do is draw Legendaries in awkward/embarassing poses and Raikou is a particular favorite, mostly because BIG SABER-TOOTH ELECTRIC LEGENDARY..... as a kitty, 8D
The kittens my GM's family has tend to sleep curled up, with their faces smashed against whatever they're laying on (couch, book, floor, etc.), so the image of a Raikou doing this was too good to pass up....
For some reason, people really like this derpy Raichu I doodled. It's cute, but my favorites were other sketches on this page. Like my Electabuzz and Raikou.

I'm not going in to the rest of my week, even though it's part of the reason why I'm so late at updating things. Mostly because it's more of the same, and I am coming horrendously close to firing August completely and just starting September a week early.
There have been positives, the biggest of which is our confirmation of an Artist Alley table at AWA this year. My college courses are looking to be fun as hell this semester, as long as I can keep up with my schoolwork.
Today, once I get off, I'm going to be spending it with Luke and possibly Douglass, gathering up supplies for con!prep and art jamming.
Then I will be going comatose until Saturday afternoon.
This month is NOT going well, but keeping focused on the very few bright spots has kept me from spontaneously combusting. I'm really hoping September will be fucking stellar to make up for this mess... if not, I will be having words with Murphy and September WILL be good, whether it wants to be or not.
....now, what else to do to kill time....
