Art post HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~!
Posting early because... well, mostly because I can, but also I have no idea what I'm doing tomorrow. SO EARLY POST FOR YOU.
Yaaaay! \o/

Instead, we're going with mythology themed stuff! Mostly dragons, as I've apparently been drawing them a lot lately, :?
Page fulla dragons. Sketched with my big fat square graphite pencil, which is fun for shading and textures. I also like these because they look distinctly Western (which is problem I have - my dragon-dragons never look right to me!)

Blue-pencil based sketch from class. Another Western dragon that I really like.

Oh man, I had so much fun doing these scales. I just noodled around with my pencil over and over again, increasing and decreasing the size of my circles and I HAD SO MUCH FUN. Definitely want to utilize this technique in the future for a dragon.

Reeeeeelly light sketch of my ocean dragon design. I debated on posting this at all, because of how light it was, but I love his tiny seal ears so I went ahead and posted him anyway, :X

More noodling with my graphite pencil. Playing with roly-poly wedge headed dragons this time. I love how the shading on the sitting one came out. I love it when my pencils listen to me.

And now onto the Oriental dragons. Love how protective this guy is of his pearl.... just wish I didn't draw him so close to the corner of the paper, >.<.
One of these days I'll learn spatial relations between my ideas and the paper.
One day.

This guy is so doofy and happy looking.

More srs dragon face. For the life of me one day I will be able to draw my oriental dragons with antlers that don't look like sticks.
Until then, I just keep trying to make the rest of them look amazing to make up for their horn deficiencies, |B

Tiny!dragon.
I wanna make a sprite outta this lil' guy. I just he'd make a cute button or something on a webpage somewhere. Maybe as a page topper for a list or something. So cute!

Hippogryph outta nowhere! Don't get onto me about those back legs - I know, I know. I was more concerned with trying to see how close to a bird-of-prey I could make a horse's face look, without losing the recognizable equine profile.
Worked kinda well, akshully.

More noodling with my blue pencil lead. Generic unicorn sketch!

Playing around with unicorn body-types. More traditional, deer-like body/lion's tail style with this one.

I have another thumbnail of this idea in a different sketchbook somewhere, and I admit I like it better than this re-draw. The idea is still decently conveyed through this one (which is why I'm posting it), but the first sketch .... I think the scale of the unicorn vs. the forest was a bit more dynamic, which may be why I'm missing it over this one.

Hope everyone has a good time with their various and respective holiday celebrations.
I just wasn't in much of a Halloween mood this year, :/ Didn't even watch Hocus Pocus, which is like, my favorite Halloween movie EVER... which could account for the lack of empathy towards the holiday this year, but meh.
Though...I admit I'm planning on stuffing some fake fur down my sleeves and digging out my werewolf claws for work tomorrow. I can't wear my ossum!mask (regulations and all), but I can at least dress up a LITTLE.
Or dress down in my case, hurrr.
EVERYONE GO OUT AND HAVE AN AWESOME TIME FOR ME OKAY?
